The first whiskey brand to be named as ‘The World’s Most Admired Whiskey’ by the voters of the UK-based Drinks International, Michter’s is set to release another soon-to-be-admired expression this June.  If you’re a fan of any of Michter’s award-winning rye whiskeys, you’ll be excited to learn that the iconic Kentucky-based distillery recently announced the release of the 2026 version of its popular 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye.

Matured for at least a decade in charred oak barrels, this 92.8-proof whiskey is well known for its complex, nuanced flavor profile featuring notes of sticky toffee pudding, toasted vanilla beans, dried fruits, candied nuts, and cracked black pepper. It’s the type of whiskey you’ll want to savor neat or on the rocks on a chilly spring or summer evening.

Michter’s President Joseph J. Magliocco explains, “At tastings, we occasionally encounter bourbon drinkers who are reluctant to taste rye because of past experiences.”

“We explain that Michter’s makes Kentucky-style rye that is different from many other American ryes. More often than not, those bourbon drinkers discover that they really enjoy our rye.”

said Michter’s Master Distiller Dan McKee added, “We make a Kentucky-style rye that has more corn and malted barley in its mashbill than many other ryes. The result is a well-balanced rye whiskey that has a rich sweetness and a flavor complexity that complements its spice notes.”

Where can I buy it?

Michter’s 10 Year Rye will be available in June at select whiskey retailers throughout the US at a suggested retail price of $210 per 750ml bottle.

This new coffee and hydration bundle gives back to Brazilian farmers
This $50 coffee & hydration bundle is your new summer essential
Equator Coffee

We're right in the heart of the summer -- and this fun seasonal collab from Equator Coffees makes the perfect pairing for those who love coffee (and hydration) as much as I do. The new Golden Hour x Buoy Hydration Bundle, (priced at $50), pairs Equator's Golden Hour blend (bright, fruity notes of orange creamsicle and Rainier cherry) with Buoy's unsweetened hydration drops and a 32oz water bottle featuring original artwork from local SF muralist Rymie. As you build a nice war-weather routine, this bundle helps emphasize the importance of staying hydrated (and caffeinated) all summer long. Even better, 5% of collection sales support youth agricultural education at the farm behind the blend in Brazil.

“Golden Hour is summer in a cup. It’s bright, vibrant, and the kind of coffee I reach for when the days get longer. Pairing it with Buoy hydration drops and a custom Nalgene just made sense to us—great coffee to start your day, hydration to keep you feeling your best, and a bottle you’ll actually want to bring everywhere this summer," says Helen Russell, Co-Founder and Executive Chair.

The best value single malt whisky from every region of Scotland
Take a tour of Scotland with these gateway whiskies
Aberlour

If you’re new to the world of Scotch whisky, you might just assume that it all tastes the same. Well, not only are there major differences in aroma and flavor between many well-known whiskies, but there are also five distinct regions, and each has its own unique flavor profile. Each region is also home to many value whiskies. Today, I’m going to highlight one from each. But before I get into that, I need to start at the beginning.

When I first started writing about alcohol, Scotch whisky seemed a little overwhelming to me. When I first tasted it, I thought they all tasted the same. That changed when I was given a dram of single malt whisky from The Macallan alongside a dram of single malt whisky from Laphroaig. Boy, was my mind blown.

A look at a unique tribal label within the craft beer industry
Talking Cedar Brewery & Distillery.

When an industry fails to reflect the community, it falls short. That's the case for everything from fashion and music to the craft beer movement. Diversity in production honors the diversity in consumers.

In terms of beer, it's long been a white and male dominated affair. Lately, marginalized folks have made strides and craft beer has partnered up with some organizations doing great work. But so much work is left to do.
