If you’re a fan of both tequila and bourbon, the distillers at La Pulga have something right up your alley. Recently, the brand announced the release of a new reposado tequila that was finished in Red Corn Bourbon barrels from the renowned Still Austin Whiskey Co.
La Pulga Tequila Reposado Double Barrel

It’s called La Pulga Tequila Reposado Double Barrel, and this 90-proof expression begins with 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. First matured for 7 months in traditional barrels, it’s finished in Still Austin Red Corn Bourbon barrels to add extra dimensions and depth. According to the brand, this creates a timeless expression featuring notes of roasted agave, gentle spices, and a hint of caramelized sweet corn.
“This is one of those bottles that just makes you stop and say, ‘okay, this is something really special,’ especially considering that Still Austin Bottled in Bond Red Corn Bourbon is one of Still Austin’s most sought-after releases,” La Pulga Co-Founder Sarah Castillo says.
“Having spent time living in Austin, I’ve long admired the originality and craftsmanship coming out of Still Austin, so finishing this tequila in their prized red corn bourbon barrels felt like a natural evolution for us. It’s still unmistakably La Pulga, but with added depth, a little extra character, and a story that connects two fast-growing, award-winning brands from two great Texas cities, Austin and Fort Worth!”
Where can I buy it?

La Pulga Tequila Reposado Double Barrel is available at select liquor retailers for a suggested retail price of $69.99 per 750ml bottle.
