Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. is well-known for its award-winning whiskey portfolio. But, up until now, the brand has never officially released an age-statement expression. That changes with its new 10-year-old whiskey.

Kentucky Peerless Kraver’s 10-year-old Reserve

It’s called Kentucky Peerless Kraver’s 10-year-old Reserve, and not only is it the brand’s first aged expression, but it also pays tribute to the founder of Kentucky Peerless, Henry Kraver.

“This is to honor my great-grandfather. And to honor all of our employees who have done an incredible job making the whiskey and finishing the product for distribution. We have a GREAT team at Peerless,” Roy M. “Corky” Taylor III,  4th Generation Chairman and CEO of Kentucky Peerless, says.

The whiskey is being released as a reference to the 10 years since the family revived the Peerless brand, which was originally founded by Kraver in 1889. The new whiskey was made from grain to bottle in-house, with a sweet-mash base. After maturing for 10 years, the result is a complex, memorable 117.6-proof whiskey.

According to the brand, it all starts with aromas of pipe tobacco, candied nuts, and almond cookies. The palate is centered on notes of toasted vanilla beans, port wine, bread pudding, French toast, applewood, caramelized sugar, candied orange peels, and orchard fruits. The finish is warm and lingering, ending with notes of baking spices, toasted marshmallows, and graham crackers.

“I’m grateful for Peerless’s continuous approach to elevating industry standards. 10-year-old barrels carry very prominent notes that require careful pairing when batching. We couldn’t be happier with the result. Kraver’s 10-year-old Reserve is a wonderful representation of a decade’s worth of hard work and patience,” Nick Klee, Distiller and Batcher, says.

Where can I buy it?

If you want to get your hands on a bottle of the 10-year-old Henry Kraver’s Old Reserve Bourbon, it will be released at the Peerless Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, on April 22, 2026. Only one bottle will be available per person. No price has been given for this limited-edition expression.

Whisky, Scotch, Bottle

Twenty years is a long time to wait for anything, let alone a whisky, but Bowmore is betting its newest release is one worth the delay.

The distillery, founded in 1779 in the town of Bowmore, is the oldest licensed distillery on Islay. It’s also the second-oldest in Scotland, and one of the few that still runs its own floor maltings, using peat smoke to dry the barley on-site.
