Wigle Smiley Cookie Whiskey
Wigle’s new limited release celebrates a uniquely Pittsburgh confection: the Smiley Cookie. It was crafted to pay homage to 40 years of this popular local cookie, first created in 1986.
But it’s more than a name: the whiskey is made with light corn whiskey infused with vanilla beans to emulate the cookie’s flavors. According to the brand, the result is a complex, indulgent, dessert-like 70-proof whiskey with flavors like royal icing, vanilla, and sugar cookies.
“At Wigle, we are always pushing the boundaries of distilling to create innovative, small-batch whiskeys that reflect the spirit of our community,” Alex Moser, Wigle’s chief operating officer, says.
“We are excited to bottle up the familiar flavor of Smiley Cookies in a whiskey that celebrates two hometown favorites.”
Brooks Broadhurst, senior vice president of food systems transformation at Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, adds, “As we celebrate 40 years of the Smiley Cookie, we are thrilled to work with a local partner like Wigle to give people another reason to smile. Smiley Cookies have been part of so many cherished traditions for generations of Pittsburghers, and we’re excited for more memories to be made over pours of Smiley Cookie Whiskey.”

Even if you’ve never had a Smiley Cookie, by now you probably want to try this seasonally appropriate flavored whiskey. Sadly, you’ll have to head to Pennsylvania to snag a bottle. Smiley Cookie Whiskey is available at Wigle Distillery and the Ross Park Mall Bottle Shop for the suggested retail price of $39 for a 750ml bottle.
