Allagash Brewing Company is releasing some of its most beloved beers to the masses. Those in the northeast can now get the Maine Blueberry Ale, Rosé Cider, and Clementine Kolsch in can form. The beverages were previously only available at the Maine producer’s tasting rooms.
The releases greet the spring season with open arms. We love a good fruited beer, especially as the days begin to stretch out. And a kolsch style beer is among the most refreshing in craft beer canon.
The beers are now available in the New England states of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. The cider is perhaps the most unexpected, a dry option made from regional apples. It has proven quite popular in the brewery’s tasting rooms.
“We started exploring cider after noticing that visitors to our tasting room were increasingly looking for choices beyond beer,” said Jason Perkins, brewmaster at Allagash Brewing Company. “We wanted to be able to offer those guests something we crafted ourselves, and Rosé Cider was a creative twist our brewing team added while experimenting with ciders for our tasting room. It immediately took off. Seeing how much people connected with it in the tasting room made us excited to share it more broadly throughout our home state of Maine and with our New England neighbors.”
The kolsch is brewed with clementines and comes in at a modest 4/2% ABV. The blueberry beer is made from local fruit and is 5% ABV. The beers have us salivating for summer.
Allagash Brewing Company started in 1995 in Portland, Maine. The label has gone on to be one of the most prominent in the craft beer world, most famous for its esteemed white ale.
