In a stunning example of time(pieces) meeting a moment, the horological world is set to be captivated with a new release from William Wood Watches. The British brand is set to launch its latest creation, the Vintage Triumph at the WindUp Watch Fair in New York City this October, where founder Jonny Garrett will personally present this thrilling milestone.

The Vintage Triumph is a masterpiece of themed horology

“Our Triumph Collection is our most prestigious chronograph range, deeply inspired by our firefighting heritage — from dials modeled on a fire engine dashboard to water pump gauge hands, and brass pushers crafted from a melted-down 100-year-old firefighter’s helmet. The new Vintage Edition brings a timeless twist to the collection with its gold face and sleek black highlights.” – Jonny Garrett

This limited edition chronograph is a masterclass in vintage-inspired design, presented in a warm, 41mm gold-plated case that exemplifies refined, timeless elegance. The aged champagne dial, featuring diamond-cut facets and polished gold numerals, captures the light with a soft, yet authoritative glow. Each piece is crowned with a unique component crafted from a 100-year-old melted-down British brass firefighter’s helmet, forging a tangible link to a century celebrated for its bravery. Beneath this gilded exterior beats a robust Swiss-made Sellita SW510 chronograph movement, ensuring performance that matches its profound narrative.

Every design component services the story as it visually unfolds

Beyond the crown, the sub-dials are artfully modeled after fire engine pump gauges, while the chronograph hand mimics a vintage fire bell chime. The seconds track mirrors the chequered markings of traditional British fire engines, and the entire dial is visible through a picturesque blue-tinted sapphire crystal, a direct nod to the founder’s service. This narrative is completed by the strap, crafted from an upcycled fire hose, and is presented in a genuine Italian leather fire alarm box, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to its mission.

A profound statement on wearable heritage

With the Vintage Triumph, William Wood Watches transforms profound respect for service into an object of modern luxury. It is a chronograph offering collectors a timepiece as rich in story as it is in craftsmanship. For the discerning watch enthusiast in search of a timepiece with heart, soul, and a purpose beyond telling time, the Vintage Triumph stands as a triumphant success.
