TAG Heuer launches the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport F1 75th Anniversary Limited Edition. Only 75 watches exist, with each one representing a single Formula 1 World Championship season. A 44mm grade 2 titanium case holds an 18K 5N yellow gold bezel. Inside sits the manufacture Calibre TH20-09, a COSC certified tourbillon chronograph. The sapphire caseback bears a unique engraving: a championship year sits inside a gold victory wreath outline and the number appears as YEAR/75.
The set covers every F1 title year from 1950 to 2024. TAG Heuer decides which year goes to each buyer rather than allowing selection. Every caseback shows the F1 75 logo next to the assigned year and wreath, making each of the 75 watches distinct from the rest.
Jack Heuer released the first Carrera in 1963 as a clearly readable chronograph for drivers. During the 1970s TAG Heuer timed for Ferrari and tightened its bond with racing. The firm built tools such as the Le Mans Centigraph and worked with drivers from Ayrton Senna to current champion Max Verstappen. The name Carrera points back to the Carrera Panamericana road race held in Mexico in the 1950s.
The 44mm titanium case cuts weight, while the gold bezel gives warm contrast to the grey shell. The openworked dial cuts holes above the movement so the tourbillon cage and chronograph parts remain visible. COSC testing confirms the movement keeps chronometer grade time. The tachymeter scale on the bezel carries the Formula 1 logo among its numerals.
The Calibre TH20-09 joins a tourbillon regulator to a chronograph. The layout holds more parts than either function alone. Gears and the spinning tourbillon cage show through the dial gaps and through the sapphire back.
TAG Heuer sells the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport F1 75th Anniversary Limited Edition through its boutiques and authorized dealers. The firm states pricing at point of sale.
