New Seiko x Mooneyes watch comes with a striking yellow dial

A new Seiko watch with a yellow dial that will capture your attention

Seiko 5 Sports x MOONEYES Seiko / Seiko

A brand new Seiko watch with a striking yellow dial and two cute eyes that look beyond the dial has debuted. Well, this new timepiece, the reference SRPL39, has the primary colors of the brand Seiko is partnering with—Mooneyes.

For starters, Mooneyes is a motorsports company that gained much traction in the ‘50s due to its high-quality automotive parts, which were always fixed in racing cars for performance enhancement. While the organization made a name with top-tier parts, it has a very interesting logo that stands out. It is the work of a popular artist who had ties to Disney—one of the reasons why it has a cartoonish design that captures attention quite easily.

Just above the 6 o’clock denotation, a black moon’s eye logo creates a beautiful contrast between the yellow background and the engraving. The yellow dial also stands out due to the Mooneyes logo imprints. The bezel complements the dial with black and yellow hues.

The hour markers have an interesting white hue that gives the front face a stylish finish. It is worth noting that this new watch is a reimagined version of the Seiko 5 Sports collection that was customized to honor Mooneyes. A few components—such as the hour markers, hour hand, and seconds hand—were upgraded. However, Seiko still preserved the date window and the 60-minute scale—elements that are featured on the Seiko 5 Sports collection.

Since this new model is a limited edition watch, only 1,500 pieces will be rolled out into the market, and each will have a $420 price tag.

Killer tribute: Seiko’s Jaws Turtle honors Spielberg’s masterpiece
Seiko celebrates cinema's greatest shark with commemorative Turtle diver watch
Seiko jaws watch promopic

Seiko has unveiled a special tribute to one of cinema's most influential films with the Prospex Jaws 50th Anniversary Limited Edition, marking half a century since Steven Spielberg's masterpiece revolutionized Hollywood and invented the summer blockbuster.
The collaboration with Universal Pictures transforms Seiko's beloved "Turtle" diver into a sophisticated homage to the 1975 film that terrified audiences and changed the movie industry forever. Limited to 5,000 pieces, the commemorative timepiece (ref. SRPL81) will be available in July 2025 for $795.
First introduced in 1976 as reference 6306, just one year after Jaws terrorized audiences, Seiko's "Turtle" earned its nickname from the distinctive cushion case that resembled a turtle shell. The watch established Seiko's reputation in the dive watch space during the brand's golden era of the 1970s.
This commemorative interpretation maintains the Turtle's fundamental DNA while incorporating subtle dial graphics to honor the film. The 45mm stainless steel case features a 47.7mm lug-to-lug measurement and 13.2mm thickness, staying true to the modern Turtle's proportions.
Within its ceramic bezel insert, the dial showcases bold graphics with a gradient effect that transitions from silver to blue, representing the ocean's surface. An embossed shark silhouette lurks beneath, visible at certain angles but not immediately obvious. Like Spielberg's approach, the diver suggests the threat rather than showing it outright.
The blood-red Jaws logo at 6 o'clock, matching the red second hand tip, provides the only direct movie reference on the dial face. Positioned where it won't interfere with legibility, it maintains the watch's status as a functional tool. Chunky indices and hands coated in LumiBrite ensure visibility underwater, while the day-date display at 3 o'clock features Seiko's signature cyclops lens magnification.
Powering this commemorative piece is Seiko's 4R36 caliber, an automatic movement with hand-winding capability that's become a fan favorite in the enthusiast community. With 24 jewels, 41-hour power reserve, and hacking seconds function, it represents solid middle-tier Japanese engineering.
The real treat appears on the caseback, where a laser-engraved image of Quint's boat, the Orca, pays homage to one of cinema's most memorable characters, portrayed by Robert Shaw. Each watch features its specific edition number out of 5,000 pieces engraved on the caseback.
The watch arrives on a dark blue silicone strap and comes in a commemorative collector's box featuring the movie's iconic poster. The 200-meter water resistance and screw-down crown ensure this tribute piece can handle real diving duties.
The Seiko Prospex Jaws 50th Anniversary Limited Edition will be available through authorized Seiko dealers starting July 2025.

Tudor honors cycling legend with yellow Pelagos tribute watch
Tudor celebrates cycling champion's Tour de France with exclusive timepiece
Tudor fxd chrono yellow promo pic

Tudor announced the release of its Pelagos FXD Chrono "Yellow," a limited edition watch honoring Swiss cycling legend Fabian Cancellara as he returns to the Tour de France after nearly a decade away from the sport's most prestigious event.
The 300-piece collection celebrates Cancellara's remarkable Tour de France legacy, where he wore the race leader's yellow jersey for 29 days and claimed eight stage victories during his professional career. The watch serves as both tribute and talisman as Cancellara transitions from retired champion to team owner of Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
"Every child has heroes; someone they look up to. For me, it was the Tour that produced those heroes," Cancellara said in a statement. "This was where my personal heroes were formed."
Cancellara last competed in the Tour de France in 2016 before retiring shortly after. His return to the race in 2025 marks a significant milestone, not as a competitor but as the leader of a team he conceived just three years ago.
The limited-edition timepiece reflects Tudor's partnership with professional cycling and its ambassador's storied career. Number 7 of the collection has been reserved for Cancellara, matching his signature racing number.
Known for his prowess in time trials and one-day classics, Cancellara emerged as an international cycling star after his breakthrough performance in the 2004 Tour de France prologue. His career trajectory from relatively unknown rider to global cycling icon mirrors the evolution of his current team.
"The pain is temporary, but the memories from this race last forever," Cancellara noted, reflecting on the challenges and rewards of professional cycling.
The Pelagos FXD Chrono "Yellow" features Tudor's signature diving watch design adapted for cycling professionals, incorporating elements that reference the iconic yellow jersey worn by Tour de France race leaders.
Tudor Pro Cycling Team, under Cancellara's direction, represents his vision of nurturing the next generation of cycling talent. The limited-edition watch symbolizes both his past achievements and future aspirations in the sport.
The timepiece will be available through select Tudor retailers, with each of the 300 pieces individually numbered.
