Seiko adds another partner to the 5 Sports line, this time with London’s Bamford Watch Department. The result is a 2,025-piece run called SRPL95 that costs €480 and layers translucent material, bright pigment and luminous treatment onto the SKX-shaped case. The project shows Bamford moving from individual custom jobs toward joint releases with larger manufacturers.
George Bamford opened his workshop in 2003, first altering luxury watches before teaming with brands. The new watch keeps the 5 Sports SKX architecture—a 42.5mm steel case, crown at 4 o’clock, 46mm lug-to-lug and a unidirectional bezel. A push-pull crown limits water protection to 100 meters, keeping the watch from dive classification.
The bezel insert revives an archived Seiko pattern, blocky markers, five-minute numerals and an orange sector that glows. The dial is translucent blue, revealing day and date wheels underneath, the central disc also carries luminous material. Applied indices and hands copy the angular lines of 1980s SKX models, a direct reference to Seiko’s catalog.
The calibre 4R36 sits behind a clear back stamped with the BWD logo. The automatic movement holds 24 jewels, beats at 21,600 vph, hacks and delivers 41 hours of power reserve. Day and date advance through the crown.
A nylon NATO strap in blue and orange ships with the watch, the orange stripe contains luminous thread. Sales start October 2025, running only through Seiko boutiques. At €480 the piece stays inside normal 5 Sports pricing while giving buyers the visual distinction that justifies the Bamford name.
