This $500,000 package may be the most exclusive way to watch the World Cup final

The package includes a luxury suite in NYC and a chauffeur driven ride to the final

The World Cup Final is the most-watched sporting event in the world with an estimated global audience of over 1.5 billion. Actually securing a spot in the stadium for the big game is another matter; it’s pretty exclusive, with the “cheapest” seats at the 2026 final currently selling for over $10,000 each. But what if money is no object and you want to go all out? Well, the The Peninsula New York’s “World Soccer Championship Finals Package” may be the most luxurious way to enjoy the event.

Costing between $400,000 and $500,000, the package includes a five-night stay in one of the hotel’s signature suites for two guests. The suites in question are the hotel’s Grand Suite and Peninsula Suite, which also means the number of packages on offer is limited to two. A chauffeur will meet you at the New York airport of your choice and whisk you to the hotel. You’ll get the same treatment when making your way to and from the final itself, and when heading back to the airport on July 19. Guests will have a daily Fifth Avenue Breakfast provided. Other amenities include in-room wireless high-speed internet access, daily local newspapers, access to more than 2,000 publications via PressReader, and international and local telephone calls provided.

You can also expect a few gifts to help you commemorate the event. This includes exclusive gear and memorabilia. The Peninsula New York hasn’t said exactly what, so you do have a bit of a surprise in store, but “personalized duffel bags” have been hinted at.

You’ll be watching the final and other games in style

So, what about the games themselves? While the final is on the 19th, other games are going on during your stay. The semi-finals are scheduled to be held on the 14th and 15th of July, with the third-place playoff set to take place on the 18th.

You have a couple of options when it comes to viewing these games. Guestrooms have premium sports channel packages provided, so you can just watch them in the hotel while enjoying your surroundings. Guests also have access to the Official Fan Village at the Rockefeller Center if you want to watch it all play out with a bit more atmosphere.

Obviously, the package includes a couple of tickets for the final itself, which is set to be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19. And as mentioned, you’ll be arriving there by chauffeur-driven vehicle.

Room rates are subject to 8.875% state sales tax, 5.875% city tax, US$ 1.50 unit tax, and occupancy tax per room per night.

Savannah Beyond the Postcard
Take a look at one of the greatest southern cities from a different perspective.
Architecture, Building, Spire

Savannah is one of those cities that seems almost too easy to like. The live oaks are dramatic. The Spanish moss does exactly what it is supposed to do. The brick sidewalks buckle in all the right places. The houses look like they were designed by people who understood proportion, shade, and the value of a proper front step. Even the light seems to arrive with better manners than it does in most places.

I have a built-in advantage when it comes to Savannah. We have family there, so we have been back several times, not just once for the checklist version of the city. I have also done a photography workshop there, which is a terrific way to learn any city. You get up early, stay out late, and pay attention to alleys, doorways, ironwork, reflections, and the way a city changes when the tourists are still asleep.

I spent 72 hours in London with only a carry-on. Here’s how I did it in style
Luxury travel doesn't require a checked bag
London

Somewhere between the baggage claim carousel and the Elizabeth Line, I realized I'd already won. As passengers from my Norwegian flight to London crowded around the conveyor belt waiting for checked luggage to appear, I was already on my way into the city. Twenty minutes later, I was headed toward central London with nothing more than a carry-on suitcase and a backpack. I've become a bit of a carry-on evangelist over the past few years. Not because I'm trying to prove some minimalist point or because I enjoy seeing how few shirts I can survive with. I just genuinely think it's the better way to travel, especially for a long weekend in Europe.

My recent 72-hour trip from Copenhagen to London wasn't exactly a backpacker's itinerary. It included a stay at one of London's nicest luxury hotels, rooftop cocktails, dinners worth dressing up for, and plenty of walking through Soho, Covent Garden, and the rest of central London. Somehow, everything I needed fit inside my Travelpro Platinum Elite Slim Cabin Hardshell Spinner V2, with a backpack holding my flight essentials.
