Wild Turkey is an iconic, historic brand. Recently, the brand announced that it would take a moment to look back at its past while preparing for the future, with the launch of a new, limited-edition annual series created to commemorate beloved vintage expressions from days gone by.
Austin Nichols Archives Collection: Gold Foil Edition
It’s called the Austin Nichols Archives Collection, and the first release is called the Gold Foil Edition. This new release is 120-proof Kentucky straight bourbon that was matured for a minimum of 16 years in Wild Turkey’s renowned Camp Nelson F, D, and E rickhouses. The first of this series of limited-edition whiskeys, this non-chill-filtered whiskey was created by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell.
According to Wild Turkey, drinkers can expect flavors like dark fruit, charred oak, cherry cola, clove, and dark honey on the palate. The finish is long, warm, and ends with peppery spice, brown sugar, and fresh leather.
“Austin Nichols Archives has been a labor of love, and I’m excited to finally share it with bourbon lovers everywhere,” Russell says.
“Gold Foil Edition was the perfect bourbon to launch the collection. Inspired by a personal favorite of mine and of many Wild Turkey fans, I drew on everything I’ve learned from my father and grandfather to create a whiskey that honors the Wild Turkey legacy.”
