Let’s be clear, THC spirits don’t contain any alcohol. Instead, they’re infused with THC. They were created to be used in the same way one might use a spirit in a cocktail, but they won’t give you a hangover like your favorite whiskey, rum, tequila, or gin might if you imbibe a little too much.
THC spirits are made by extracting cannabinoids from either hemp or cannabis. It’s then broken down into THC oil, which is blended with a non-alcoholic liquid to create a THC spirit. At this point, some brands also add flavors (such as citrus) to make the spirit more palatable.
THC spirits contain no alcohol and are crafted as zero-proof beverages to enjoy as a shot, sipper, or mixed into a mocktail. The “buzz” from THC spirits is a relaxing, euphoric experience, unlike the intoxication, dizziness, or hangover typically caused by alcohol. THC content varies by product, usually between 2mg and 10mg, and is designed to act quickly, with effects starting within 15-20 minutes. They are also ideal for those seeking a more sober-curious social environment.
