Former Senior Mobile Writer
Author/Co-Author of 63 articles

Andy concentrates on mobile technology, a subject he has written about for more than a decade. During that time he has seen the evolution from 2G to 5G, reviewed dozens of smartphones, worn dozens of smartwatches (not at the same time), spent years wearing smart rings, and experienced daily life with smartglasses. He has visited many manufacturers and events all over the world, and is a multi-year veteran of Mobile World Congress, CES, IFA, and Baselworld trade shows. Andy always has a strong opinion on the mobile industry, writes the bi-weekly OuttaFocus column on mobile photography, and enjoys the opportunity to also write about smart home, audio, and entertainment for Digital Trends when he gets the chance.

Pay close attention to his work and you'll spot references to some of his interests outside of technology, whether it's cars, mechanical watches, or even K-pop. You can connect with him on Instagram, Threads, and Bluesky. He also can't remember a time when he wasn't carrying around at least two smartphones.
