Johnnie Walker is the best-selling Scotch whisky brand in the world. Its flagship expressions, like the ubiquitous Black Label and the high-end Blue Label, grace shelves in every corner of the globe. Over the years, those popular mainstays have been joined by plenty of limited releases and travel retail exclusives, but today the brand announced its first new permanent blend to hit the United States in 15 years—Johnnie Walker Black Cask Blended Scotch Whisky.
Johnnie Walker Black Cask

Black Cask is a blend of bright, expressive whiskies from distilleries including Cameronbridge, Glen Elgin, and Roseisle. These same whiskies are at the heart of Johnnie Walker Black Label, but in this case, they are aged exclusively in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels. This brings out layered notes of creamy vanilla, rich caramel, gentle spice, and oaky warmth.
Johnnie Walker’s master blender, Dr. Emma Walker, designed Black Cask to be an approachable but still complex option for drinkers who like both Scotch whisky and American whiskey flavor profiles. She says that Johnnie Walker is constantly pushing the boundaries of what great whisky can be, and that its more than 200-year heritage gives them the confidence and authority to innovate.
Black Cask can be sipped neat or over ice. According to the brand, it also adds richness and balance to cocktails like the Old Fashioned and the Gold Rush, two drinks that traditionally feature American whiskey.
Where to Buy It

Johnnie Walker Black Cask joins the core lineup and will be available at select retailers and bars across the U.S. beginning March 1. It’s 86-proof and carries a suggested retail price of $34.99 for a 750ml bottle.
