Maven Watches Uses Marble and Natural Landscapes to Fuel its Startup

To launch into the (crowded) business of watches — an esteemed industry, to say the least — entrepreneurs need to offer something wholly unique.

That is, a new company needs to offer a product that’s either entirely original or less expensive than what’s available. In the case of Maven Watches, a Hong Kong-based timepiece startup, this distinct variation lies with its embrace of minimal, modern style. While there certainly exist a bevy of watch brands which lean on a minimal and modern style, Maven’s two flagship styles — the Enduring and Artisan Series — cling to these genres in a way that quickly sets them apart from the pack.

For its Enduring Series, Maven turned to the use of elegant marble to give the watch a bona fide pop. With each chosen marble stone featuring a unique birthmark, it’s an absolute fact no two Enduring Series watches will ever be the same. No only does this give Maven’s Enduring an unmatched lasting quality but it also allows the timepiece to be a true statement of personal style. Featuring an interchangeable Italian leather band and Rose Gold-colored stainless steel crowns, case backs, and buckles, it’s perfect for dressing up or going casual.

While the Enduring’s marble watch face serves as its declaration of character, Maven’s Artisan Series leans on inspiration from modern architecture and natural landscapes. Yet another take on minimalist style, the Artisan Series features a simple analog watch face adorned in a pleasant color tone that allows the wearer to match it with a wide variety of apparel. Outfit with an Italian leather band (of which is also interchangeable) and the same stainless steel crown, case back, and buckle, the Artisan Series also utilizes a Swiss Ronda movement — a high-quality quartz timepiece movement.

Perhaps the one thing holding Maven back from completely taking the watch industry by storm is the fact the brand has yet to even launch. With an Indiegogo campaign scheduled to go live in February, it’s only a matter of time before this classically-styled brand makes a fashionable name for itself. At the heart of the company is a team of entrepreneurs and designers who’ve remained keenly focused on manufacturing a watch that’s not only aesthetically pleasing but scores highly in terms of durability and craftsmanship.

Though Maven has remained mum on an exact launch date of its crowdfunding campaign, the brand does allow interested buyers the ability to input their email address for updates. If the finished product proves capable of replicating the impeccable style and character of its initial announcement, it wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see its run on Indiegogo end as a roaring success.
