Entering the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba feels like stepping through a portal where time simply stops. I was immediately drawn to the turquoise sea, which cast a spell of calm. Driftwood and industrial lighting hang overhead, and even the elevators reinforce the serenity: fast and whisper-quiet, you barely feel them move. But I was particularly impressed with the staff and their attention to detail, so much so that I wasn’t surprised at all when I learned that the resort has just earned a coveted fourth star from Forbes Travel Guide for 2027.
We visited in early October, which turned out to be the perfect time to dodge the crowds. Aruba’s near-constant sunshine and position outside the main hurricane belt make it a strong destination year-round, but the best time to visit depends on what you’re after. Peak season from mid-December through mid-April brings ideal dry weather and higher crowds, while shoulder months like May and June or the quieter stretch into early fall deliver the same balmy conditions with softer rates and a more unhurried pace. The hotel wasn’t crowded at all, so we were able to enjoy all the amenities in relative privacy. Here was my overall impression of all the activities and amenities at the hotel.
Ocean-Front Rooms at the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

The oceanfront view was the first thing we saw the moment we stepped into our room, and it never stopped being the visual star. The white-sand shores and the turquoise waters invited us inside, and the attention to detail made us want to stay. The design is intentionally minimal, with warm wood tones and simple cactus art that add just enough of a subtle nod to the island without competing with the outside view.
The bathroom is spacious and feels appropriately luxurious. Ours had a large modern shower, deep soaking tub, dual jack-and-jill sinks, and a separate privacy door for the toilet. Beds, pillows, and linens were all crisp, white, and comfortable. The mattress itself felt plush, and we consistently had the best night’s sleep in months, and we have the health data to back that up.
The patio is set up perfectly for slow mornings. Comfortable patio furniture makes it easy to settle in with coffee and watch the sunrise over the water, and the fact that the desk inside faces the view means you can still take it all in even if you’re catching up on a few things.
Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping the room fresh. We didn’t even need to ask for turn-down service, which included Ritz-Carlton branded chocolates on the bed, a small bottle of Essence One mist spray for better rest, and a QR code to a calming before-bed playlist.
Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

While visiting the Ritz-Carlton Aruba, I was struck by how consistently excellent the dining was across the property. Better, in my view, than the Lodge at Bodega Bay, which Condé Nast named the world’s top hotel in 2024.
Standouts that still stick with me include the Siamese Agnolotti and mini dessert plate at Casa Nonna. From BLT Steak, the filet mignon, and herb-crusted rack of lamb were outstanding, as was the carrot cake finished with cream cheese frosting, vanilla ice cream, candied nuts, and rum sauce. Noori’s Cadushi Cocktail and Volcano roll all reinforced how reliably good the food and beverage program is here.
The clear highlight for me, though, was the Ginger Orange Brownie at Noori’s Sushi Lounge. It starts with a fudgy brownie base, adds a layer of cheesecake, and finishes with whipped cream, strawberries, and a ginger-orange jam, all served with ice cream and strawberry compote. Well-balanced and not overly sweet, it was the one dessert that made me forget my manners and lick the plate. I have zero regrets.
Beach & Pool at the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

The Ritz-Carlton Aruba’s beach and pool area centers on a quiet stretch of Palm Beach, where soft white sand meets calm, clear turquoise water that’s shallow and easy for swimming. The hotel offers complementary paddle boards, kayaks, and water hammocks on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as several rows of umbrella-shaded beach loungers.
We were thrilled to have been able to experience the beachside cabanas, which are rentable. Cabanas offer an upscale experience with a shaded day bed, a mini fridge of soft drinks, a complementary fruit plate, and a relaxing collection of loungers, perfect for a family day at the beach.
Two ocean-facing pools sit just back from the sand, one a family-friendly pool and the other quiet and adults-only. Poolside cabanas are also rentable, offering easy, shaded access to the water, but we found that the poolside loungers were also comfortable. For a little extra fun, beanbag-style flotation pillows are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

No visit to the Ritz-Carlton Aruba is complete without a spa visit. Decorated with soft Caribbean tongs, natural beige furnishings, and thoughtful inclusions, the spa has an elevated level of calm. With separate men’s and women’s facilities, visitors can enjoy an assortment of hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and signature treatments from the staff.
The jacuzzi was hot, held at a perfect hot temperature for relaxation that actually felt therapeutic. We also enjoyed the steam room, which felt a lot like a wet sauna. After cycling through the hotter areas, the iced towelettes were a small but perfect reprieve, cooling things down just enough to reset.
Treatments lean toward local ingredients, like aloe, coconut, and cadushi, pairing nicely with the resort’s overall sense of place. During our stay, we encountered so many amazing staff members, but Maxine from the spa was a particular standout. Genuinely warm and welcoming, her presence made the whole experience feel easy and personal from the start.
Other experiences at the Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton in Aruba also has a bunch of other activities. After a long day at the beach, you can slip into their casino, which is just off of the main lobby. It’s open almost around the clock for rounds of blackjack, craps, roulette, and modern slot machines, and has live entertainment every Friday and Saturday.
Families will appreciate the Ritz Kids program. Suitable for children ages four to twelve, the hotel offers a dedicated place for kids to work on art projects or learn about Aruba via supervised learning sessions. There’s an indoor playroom and a small outdoor play area, plus options for movies and crafts. It runs on an hourly-fee basis (with advance reservations usually needed), so parents can grab a spa treatment or a quiet cocktail while knowing the little ones are engaged.
Overall, my experience at the Ritz-Carlton Aruba location was a success. I’ve never been so relaxed at a hotel before, and that’s saying something, because I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing other high-end and award-winning hotels like The Lodge at Bodega Bay or Caribbean adventures like Holland America’s cruise line. I can’t thank the Ritz-Carlton enough for allowing me to come and experience the very special piece of paradise they have created, and I can’t wait to come back and experience it all again.
