Say goodbye to clogs: 5 ways the Drain Detailer quickly rescues your sink drains

Most people don’t give much thought to their sink drains — until they get a clog. A clogged sink will drain slowly, and more often than not, the source of the clog will also cause a foul odor that stinks up the bathroom or kitchen.

Left unchecked, a severe clog can cause water pressure buildup that causes the affected pipes to corrode and leak. In kitchens, stuck water and food debris can also attract pests like cockroaches or fruit flies.

Unfortunately, many household clog removal options struggle to get the job done, especially for tough clogs like hair and soap scum or grease buildup. As David Hazar, inventor and CEO of Drain Detailer, a patent pending clog removal product, explains, the Drain Detailer can provide the fast rescue your sink drains need to get flowing normally again.

1. Pushing gunk out

As Hazar highlights, the unique method for using the Drain Detailer helps it stand out in comparison to standard barbed pipe cleaning tools.

“With the Drain Detailer, you remove the sink’s drain cover and P-trap, place a bucket underneath the P-trap opening and then push the tool through the top of the drain. This pushes everything out through the spot where the P-trap was connected, where it falls into the bucket. With other tools, you’re pulling out whatever the barbs grab in the drain, but that drags gunky residue all over your sink. And a lot of the time, you end up accidentally compressing the debris or leaving some of it behind as you try to pull it out.”

2. Gets rid of trapped residue on pipe walls

Another notable aspect of the Drain Detailer is that it doesn’t just remove trapped debris from the middle of the pipe. Its distinct design, which features a removable silicone brush attachment that fills the entire width of the pipe, also helps scrape away grease, soap scum and other buildup along the pipe walls.

“Our cleaning head lets us target the real problem behind so many sink clogs, which is the film and residue that builds up along the inner walls of the pipe,” Hazar explains. “Loose hair or food debris in the middle of the drain may be the most visible part of the clog and what finally causes the water to back up, but the residue along the walls is what traps that debris in the first place. If you don’t remove that buildup, your sink clogs will come back sooner rather than later.”

3. No toxic chemicals

As a tool that users push into the drain, the Drain Detailer also offers a chemical-free solution for removing sink clogs. While chemical drain cleaners are very commonly used, they also tend to be highly acidic or caustic, which can damage the plumbing lines. In addition, liquid drain cleaners often fail to fully remove clog debris or buildup. In many cases, the cleaner simply moves clogs deeper into the pipes without solving the problem.

On the other hand, the Drain Detailer’s solution of pushing the clog out through the opening where the P-trap is connected to help fully remove the clog. With a sewer line cover to block gases from the sewer while you work, you also don’t have to worry about foul odors from your cleaning.

4. A reusable solution

Hazar is also quick to note the Drain Detailer’s ability to be reused for multiple clogs. “This isn’t a cleaning tool that you can only use one time and then need to throw away,” he explains.

“The silicone brush attachment and flexible fiberglass rod are extremely durable, so they can be reused to help you unclog every sink in the house. The brush attachment is also removable, so if it gets worn or damaged, you only need to replace the brush, rather than the entire cleaning tool.”

For homeowners, this can save money in the long run compared to other drain cleaning tools that need to be replaced after a single use. In addition, the silicone brush attachment is much easier to clean than other tools — especially pipe brushes with bristles — making it much easier to reuse.

5. Visible results

Finally, the fact that the Drain Detailer provides visible results is a point of pride for Hazar. “Because you remove the P-trap, you can see everything causing the clog or blockage get pushed into your bucket,” he explains.

“Honestly, this can be kind of gross if you have a lot of buildup inside your pipes, but this also means you can be more confident about your results. You see all of the debris fall out of your pipe, and the size of the brush attachment means you can be sure that no debris or buildup got left behind. You can put everything back together knowing that you won’t have to worry about the clog coming back in just a few days or weeks.”

With other drain cleaning solutions, homeowners don’t have any way to know for certain that all of the debris has been removed — and quite often, it hasn’t been, resulting in repeated clog removal attempts.

A smarter approach to drain cleaning

As Hazar’s examples reveal, the Drain Detailer offers an innovative approach that helps you get rid of sink clogs quickly and effectively. When you can see the results of your drain cleaning efforts, you can have greater confidence that the clog is gone — and that you will be less likely to find yourself dealing with another clog in the near future.
