It brings me immense joy to pen down my thoughts about the remarkable Thompson Houston, by Hyatt. Allow me to recount my experience from the moment I arrived. Welcomed by the gracious Omar and Eduardo, I was immediately guided to valet parking where their warm smiles and genuine dedication to their roles were evident. Eduardo accompanied me as I exited parking, assisting with my luggage and escorting me to the seventh floor. It was there that I had the pleasure of meeting Mary, whom I had previously spoken with over the phone. Words cannot express my gratitude for her exceptional service and warm demeanor. Meeting her in person, her infectious energy and radiant smile left a lasting impression. Throughout my stay, the hotel consistently delivered exceptional service, from the front desk to every corner. The journey to my room was met with awe-inspiring decor and breathtaking views. Stepping into the shower, the soft water and luxurious amenities made me feel right at home. Every detail, from the plush towels to the welcoming scent of the toiletries, spoke of the hotel's commitment to excellence. Venturing into the spa, I was greeted by Maggie, whose kindness resonated even from afar during our phone booking. The hotel was overall clean and had great staff!

Exceeded our expectations - we were upgraded to stay in a mansion suite vs a room in the tower, which felt too good to be true but we said okay - the suite was amazing, felt luxurious and we loved it BUT directly outside the Van Gogh suite there must be a staff hallway or closet immediately outside the door and you can hear it open and close fairly loudly because of course it’s an old mansion - my husband and I didn’t mind it, totally worth the noise but other people who are more sensitive to that may not enjoy that particular room.

You can tell House keeping does their bare minimum. Towels had yellow stains on them. Areas behind the head board was a huge source of dust, LED lights did not work. When taking a shower it took 15 mins for the water to get hot, and then it got way too hot, then took another 5 mins just to cool down. The hotel room exit door did not latch on its own, thankfully I was paying attention and had to force the door shut, and dead bolt. Really cool opportunity for this place, wish it was taken better care of.

Staff was A1 however we kept having issue with our toilet (someone came within 20mins each time) and water temperature was so hot couldn’t really enjoy shower. Over all experience was Good because of the staff !!!
