Yesterday, Lufthansa reopened its Stuttgart Airport (STR) lounge, welcoming guests with a reimagined space. Once inside, travelers can enjoy private retreats, several multi-comfort zones, and spaces to eat, relax, or work. It’s all a part of the lounge’s extensive renovation.
The refreshed space brings updated comfort, design, and amenities for travelers

The redesigned, contemporary lounge comprises two exclusive spaces: the Senator Lounge and the Business Lounge. Visitors can access the lounge via an automated and digital system, for a seamless experience. Either space offers travelers multiple zones to meet their individual needs. That includes places for working, relaxing, reading, or being in total privacy.
Not only that, but guests have access to a broad selection of food, beverages, newspapers, and magazines. Senator Lounge customers can also enjoy specialty coffees at a barista bar, where locally roasted beans are freshly prepared.
The design of the lounge combines the branding of Lufthansa with the unique character of Stuttgart. The architectural and conceptual approach was guided by the principles of “dynamic, industrial, and mobile”. That’s evident in the materials, shapes, and spatial staging.
Heiko Reitz, Hub Manager Munich & CCO Lufthansa Airlines, said: “Many status guests sorely missed ‘their lounge’ in Stuttgart during the closure. I am therefore all the more delighted that we can finally reopen the Business and Senator Lounges after extensive renovation and with a new concept.”
From STR, Lufthansa Group flies to over 60 destinations in 21 countries, mainly via Eurowings and Lufthansa. In addition, group airlines SWISS and Austrian Airlines fly to the “Manfred Rommel” airport in the capital of Baden-Württemberg. 2025 marked Lufthansa Group’s 70th anniversary flying out of Stuttgart.
