The G-RO SIX Is a 6-Wheel, Push-Style Travel Carry-On Unlike Any Other

Travelers aren’t starved for choice when it comes to luggage these days. Ever-dwindling airline baggage allowances have inspired a new generation of better, lighter, and smarter carry-on bags (and even services to allow you to travel with no luggage at all). The market is more flooded now than ever. But, the latest bag from crowdfunded favorite G-RO is something altogether different: A unique, standout design that we’ve never seen before.

The SIX is a six-wheel carry-on that pushes like a baby stroller. In contrast to traditional pull-behind or “pull-beside” spinner luggage, it’s a shrewd design move that promises to make moving through airports (and city streets and anywhere else your travels take you) effortless. Together with oversized axle-less wheels and split, ergonomic, 66-degree handles, it’s more comfortable to push through even the largest airports. Designers also made the footprint narrower to make navigating tight airplane aisles easier.

The SIX offers all the essential features that travelers expect in a modern carry-on. It eschews the need for a zipper, relying instead on a TSA-compliant lock that works with a single slide lever to secure the bag’s aluminum channel in two places. Unlike many curved bags that focus on style over functionality, the bag features a completely flat top so it can double as a makeshift table or desk on the go. G-RO promises The SIX uses every cubic inch of its maximum-carry-on-sized 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches dimensions for packing space or bag components. Over-engineered components — an aluminum chassis and hinges, a tough polycarbonate shell, and bumpers and corner protectors all around — mean it should be the last carry-on you need to buy for a while.

G-RO’s first Kitckstarter campaign was the most successful crowdfunded luggage campaign in history. Its debut product attracted $4.7 million before adding $1.3 million the next year. Early investors and adopters included celebrities like Will Smith, will.i.am, Guy Oseary, and Mark Ronson.

The SIX, G-RO’s latest campaign, has already proven as successful as its predecessors, having crushed its $125,000 goal in the first few days. The earliest backers can lock in early bird pricing as low as $345 (a full 30% off the expected $495 retail price) on Kickstarter before it launches in December 2019.

For your budget, your convenience, and your sanity, there’s never been a better time to travel with only carry-on luggage. Check out our primer on how to pack everything you need, no matter where you’re going or how long you’ll be away, in just the bags you can take with you on the plane.
