Good news for holiday travelers, your wallet can finally catch a break. Dollar Flight Club just dropped its 2025 Holiday Travel Report, and flight prices are way friendlier this year. After crunching data from 250 popular routes across 80+ airports, the travel deal tracker found that domestic fares are averaging 19% lower than the past few holiday seasons, while international flights are down about 9%. In some cases, tickets are as much as 40% more affordable than last year’s.
The biggest Thanksgiving bargain? New York City to Miami. Roundtrips are going for as little as $98 out of LaGuardia, roughly 36-41% less than 2024. With Miami (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) competing for travelers and airlines adding extra seasonal capacity, prices have stayed low. Dollar Flight Club recommends you search both airports, fly out Tuesday or Wednesday, return Friday or Saturday, and book about 3 to 6 weeks ahead.
For Christmas, the biggest savings are from the Mid-Atlantic and NYC to Orlando, with fares as low as $38-$120 roundtrip, nearly 40% less than last year. The magic mix? Increased capacity at Orlando International (MCO) and its smaller neighbor, Sanford (SFB).
If you’re looking for the best metros to fly from, domestic travelers will find the lowest fares out of Boston, Nashville, San Jose, New York City, and Detroit, while the best international deals are popping up from Houston, Chicago, Charlotte, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
