Ski season is officially in full swing, and it turns out plenty of travelers care just as much about après-ski as they do fresh powder. According to new data from Omio, Google searches for après-ski hotspots are up 186% over the past quarter, proving that what happens after the lifts close matters more than ever.
To pinpoint Europe’s best ski-and-party destinations, Omio analyzed popular resorts and scraped Google data to calculate how many bars and pubs each location offers. The goal was simple: find where skiing seamlessly turns into a great night out.
Austria dominates the rankings, with Sölden taking first place. The resort boasts an impressive 320 bars, making it easy to trade ski boots for beers and fondue. With the average pint priced at about $5.50, Sölden delivers serious party energy without a luxury-level bill.
Not far behind is Saalbach-Hinterglemm, which has 288 bars and a reputation for everything from relaxed après lounges to full-on table dancing. Two more Austrian destinations made the top ten: Lech & Zürs with 183 bars and Kitzbühel with 133, reinforcing Austria’s status as the ultimate party ski country.
Italy also stands out as an underdog. Val Gardena ranked third overall with 264 bars, pairing Dolomite views with DJs, wine, and lively nightlife. Livigno followed with 143 bars and an après scene that ranges from family-friendly to late-night fun. Pints here also average around $5.50.
Switzerland brings world-class skiing and upscale après-ski, but at a premium. Zermatt offers 206 bars, though travelers should expect an average daily spend of about $280 and roughly $8.25 per pint. For those willing to splurge, the party comes with unforgettable alpine views.
