What new bourbon are we pumped about? Which hiking trail are we exploring? Why is the next supercar so cool? The Manual is dedicated to helping men live a more engaged life. Each week, our editors and guests get together for a round-table discussion about what’s new, exciting, and unique in the men’s lifestyle world. So pop open your favorite brew, step into your man cave, and start streaming.

For this week’s episode of Beards, Booze, and Bacon: The Manual Podcast, the round table composed of Editor-in-Chief Cator Sparks; Food and Spirits Editor Sam Slaughter; Associate Editor Chase McPeak; and host and pillar of the podcast, Greg Nibler, talk St. Patrick’s Day and all things Ireland.

The podcast begins with McPeak discussing the the best places to see and things to experience while in Dublin, including Trinity College Library, St. Stephen’s Green, Grafton Street, the Guinness Storehouse, and the Teeling Distillery, along with a host of other restaurants and bars. He also recommends staying in the Conrad Hotel Dublin for its luxury, location, and hospitality.

Sparks advises against visiting the tourist trap that is The Temple Bar area of Dublin and offers up other bits of advice to keep your travels smooth. He talks about his travels outside of Dublin, alluding to his visit to Dromoland Castle — a real castle you can not only visit, but actually stay in. McPeak offers a few Irish destinations, including the pre-history Newgrange monument in the Bru na Boinne UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Finally, Slaughter wraps up the episode with what we all were waiting for: a top-notch discussion on Irish whiskey. The group runs the gammut from Tullamore D.E.W. to the Irish Whiskey Society to our ultimate list of St. Patrick’s Day cocktails.

So, sit back, grab a Guinness, and head with us to the Emerald Isle. Sláinte!
