While both products are great, I outgrew the smaller set and this product is help me grow. If I had a choice, I would just go with the 90's if you can handle this weight. Again, both are great!

I am canceling my gym membership. My gym's dumbbells, like most gyms, go up to 90lbs. I now have the entire dumbbell set offered to me by my gym but in increments of 5 in the space of a single pair of dumbbells. I did the math: if I were to buy each pair of dumbbell starting from 10 to 90 in increments of 5, I would have added over 1,600 lbs to my bedroom floor, crashing down into the basement. All I added was 180 lbs and I have the exact same weights. They've saved several square feet of space in my room and they look really cool. When I'd get out of work I'd think about them like a kid thinking about his favorite toy he got for Christmas on his way home from school. Unbelievable. There are zero Cons. These things are amazing. Hire me and I could sell these things to an elderly woman who's never even heard of a gym. They're THAT great. 5 stars. Writing this has now made me want to use them. Excuse me, going to do a few sets of curls now.

Might just be the best investment I have ever made...

I like the maximum weight that it offers (90 lbs.) and it hits all the weights that I work out with (15-85 lbs.) and no chance of outgrowing it since I don't plan on taking on the Hulk. It works great for what I need it for and I'm fairly satisfied of the purchase. I should have done it much sooner. Now, if I'm running late with work stuff or if I'm too lazy to drive to the gym... no worries, I got these so I don't skip out on workout days anymore! It made my life less time-restrictive with working out. The only thing I can say is that the handle could use some improvement with the grip being somewhat too hard on the palms depending on how I handle it and what exercise I'm doing. I wrap my wrist with boxer's wrap with a few tape covering my palms and sometimes the cloth tend to stick to the handles. It's not a deal breaker and I work around it but I hope it is address in subsequent newer versions. Overall, it is great! I don't drop the dumbbell after my set but it seems sturdy enough to be able to take some punishment so I'm not worried. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself! I would highly recommended this to a lot of my friends but the pricing is somewhat challenging but I think it goes with the benefit and the name "Bowflex".

Perfect for low-cost home gym

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing product that takes up very little space! It is a bit bulky but perfect for use of 60lbs to 90lbs. For anything under 60lbs I use my 552 bowflex dumbbells since they are a good bit smaller.

Amazing Poduct That Takes Up No Space!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been long eyeing the SelectTech dumbbells, initially seeing them in the smaller 552 version. I waited and waited to purchase, because I had two concerns: 1. These couldn't possibly be as good as they appeared, right? There had to be some catch to the unique form factor, like a clunky selection mechanic or awkward balance while lifting. 2. Would the 52.5lb weight limit be enough for me as the primary home weight-training equipment? The SelectTech 1090 dumbbells completely answered both questions and then some. Quite honestly, I'm mad at myself for waiting to try them. They are ridiculously good. The form factor is very high quality. Gym-quality rubber wraps a stainless steel bar. They're sizeable which obviously takes some getting used to especially for arm workouts, but after just a few sets they become second nature. There's no issue with balance or control, and the bar is lightly studded which makes gripping very easy. Adjusting the weight is really simple. I appreciate the independent dials although I don't see many use cases for offset weight (loading one side more than the other.) I really like how the rounded base opening helps guide the bells back into place if I'm coming in from a slight angle. Lastly, each dumbbell arrived in its own box, and was well protected during shipping. They were easy to use straight away with essentially no setup (outside of the heft of moving them into place in my workout space!) A nice detail was the thorough manual with an illustrated workout section and tracker.

I love this set

I love the 10-90 dumbbells! I already had the 5-52.5 dumbbells but needed heavier especially for back day. The boxes were definitely heavy and bulky but that's to be expected. Once the bells are out of the box, cut a few tags and you're working out in minutes. No problems quickly adjusting weights between sets. Great product! Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered the 1090's because my neighbor has the 552's and those have really comfortable handles, I was incredibly surprised when the 1090's showed up because the handles are lousy. Thankfully there is a guy that sells knurled grip handles that come in 3 different diameters. With my 40mm replacement handles I'm much happier with these weights, despite how bulky the weight plates are. Hopefully someone will develop an affordable replacement weight set in the future.
