The holidays are nearly here, one more reason to perfect a good winter cocktail recipe. If you’re tiring of the usuals, like spiked hot cocoa, we’ve got some inspiration for you. We reached out to some top hotels in the land to see what’s showing up on their winter menus.

This year, learn to make a new drink. It’s a great way to impress, whether you’re looking or a signature cocktail for a gathering or just something new to try on a lazy evening at home. There’s even time to perfect a few before New Year’s Eve.

Per usual, it doesn’t take a lot of extra weight to make a great drink. Just as the best three-ingredient cocktails out there. Here, we sought out something along the same lines.

We’ve got a prime recipe from The Ariston, a cocktail bar and cigar lounge in Nashville. Read on for details.

Wolf Parade

Perhaps borrowing its name from arguably the best indie rock band of the 21st Century, the Wolf Parade is a lovely mix of rum, amaro, and a touch of sweetness. And don’t let the syrup down. Try playing around with some high-end honey for best results.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Appleton Estate 12-Year
  • 1/2 ounce Amaro Nardini
  • 1/4 ounce honey syrup (3:1)
  • 8-10 drops Bittermans Xocolatl Mole Bitters

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients in an Old Fashioned glass and garnish with orange peel.

So, get to your home bar and start mixing. It’s the festive season, so make a round for your neighbors too.

This year's annual limited release is five bottles reviving whiskeys the distillery legally produced during Prohibition, back when it was known as the George T. Stagg Distillery.

Back in 1976, America was celebrating its bicentennial. For those unaware, that was the United States of America’s 200th birthday. Well, while we all enjoy the glow of sparklers and thunderous explosions of fireworks every July 4th, we haven’t really had anything exciting to celebrate since the mid-70s. That changes this year because 2026 is the US’s semiquincentennial (also known as its 250th birthday). So, you know we’re going to go all this year. The folks at Buzzard’s Roost are here to help with the revelry. Well known as an independent distiller, blender, and bottler of double oak whiskeys, the brand recently announced a special expression to celebrate this momentous holiday.
