Bourbon, rye, or whiskey, that’s the question. Or wait, whiskey or whisky? That’s the subject of another debate.

Anyway, we’ve got brown spirit cocktails coming down the pipeline as it’s getting cold and dark and that seems to fit the season. Whether you’re looking for a classic Old Fashioned recipe or some creative fall cocktails, we’ve got you covered.

SirDavis reached out with their newest creation. It’s a cocktail with a lot of depth and layers. And in case you don’t recognize the name, it’s the side project of one Beyoncé. You know, the multi-talented artist who seemingly can knock out any genre on the planet (expertly, we might add).

So, throw Cowboy Carter on the turntable, up the volume, a mix up this drink. Read on for the full recipe.

High & Proud

There’s a nice touch of everything in this cocktail, from the whisky to the Campari to the tropical fruit and kick of ginger. It tastes as good as it looks.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces SirDavis American Whisky
  • 1 1/3 ounces Blanc d’oeuf
  • 1 ounce Campari
  • 1/3 ounce Jus de citron vert
  • 6/10 ounce purée of passion fruit
  • 1/3 ounce ginger syrup
  • 1/3 ounce vanilla syrup
  • 1 dash mole bitters
  • Bitter hearts for garnish

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients in shaker tin and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass, served up.
  2. Garnish with bitters (in the shape of hearts).

There’s more in that department. We’ve got the latest from the craft beer movement too, like beer releases, pairings, and professional insights. Cheers.
