This writer is getting pretty tired of Martinis. Throw in an exciting or unexpected ingredient, however, and the game changes. So, as you transition from spring cocktail recipes to summer ones, or just want something off the beaten path, consider the following.
There’s a new lesser-known liqueur out there you might want to have on your radar. We’ve been enjoying it straight on the rocks, especially when the temperature rises. It’s a matcha liqueur that completely takes the Martini to a different flavor landscape.
In fairness, we won’t say know to a Dirty Martini recipe. We’re just a little tired of it all. We want summer ’26 to be a little different, for the better.
So, we chatted up a rising brand for some ideas. They hit us back with a solid recipe, and one you can really get creative with. Go traditional with gin or vodka or change it up and add a splash of a favorite tequila bottle.

Matcha Martini

Just a few ingredients yield big results with this top-shelf drink. The liqueur is actually plenty sweet so no need to add the simple unless that’s your style.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Yoshi Matcha Liqueur
- 1 ounce vodka, tequila or gin
- 1/2 ouce simple syrup
- Matcha dusting
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in a shaker and shake with ice until frosty.
- Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a sprinkle of matcha powder.
