This week, iconic single malt Scotch whisky brand and British luxury sports car brand Aston Martin announced an extension of its exclusive global partnership. The new collaboration will add to the historic whisky brand’s relationship with the Aston Martin Formula One™ Team. To celebrate, Glenfiddich is releasing a new, limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky, hand-selected by Malt Master Brian Kinsman.

Called Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky, this limited-edition expression was matured for a minimum of sixteen years in a combination of American oak wine casks, new American barrels, and second-fill ex-bourbon casks.

According to the brand, the result is a memorable 86-proof whisky that begins with a nose of maple syrup and caramelized ginger. Sipping it reveals notes of fruit salad, sweet cream, and a rich, sweet, balanced finish.

“At Glenfiddich, we’re committed to creating exceptional whiskies that honor tradition while embracing innovation. The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old is a true testament to this philosophy,” Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master, says.

“It combines craftsmanship and precision in a whisky that invites exploration and discovery, much like the journey of our partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team. It’s a celebration of blending tradition with the thrill of innovation.”

The best beers from California you can buy anywhere
California is more than just IPAs
Sierra Nevada

Currently, more than 9,000 breweries of all sizes operate in the US. That’s an awful lot of IPAs, stouts, and lagers to choose from. Some states are more saturated with breweries (per capita) than others. This includes places like Vermont, Colorado, Maine, Oregon, and, of course, California. While I could take a deep dive into all the biggest beer-producing states, today is all about The Golden State.

I have a special affinity for California beer, and it’s because of one style in particular. Sure, you can find a beer style to fit every palate in the state, but in California, the IPA reigns supreme. In fact, if you look at almost any list ranking the best beers in the state, it will be littered with IPA options. While I often imbibe pilsners and other lagers (as well as wheat beers and other lighter beers) in the summer as well as stouts and porters (and other dark beers) in the winter, I always go back to the classic West Coast IPA.
