Modelo is getting into the holiday spirit. The most popular beer in the U.S. has released a festive beer called Modelo Noche Especial. It’s an amber lager style beer with a bigger malt backbone to stand up to winter.
The beer is an homage to Noche Buena, a December celebration popular among the Hispanic community. The celebration takes place on Christmas Eve and involves an evening of merriment with family, food, drinks, and joy. It’s teeming with cacao and caramel flavors and comes in at 5.7% ABV.
It’s the latest drop in what’s sure to be a busy holiday beer season. Many breweries, big and small, are shifting from crisp lager beers to heavier options like barrel-aged beers. You know, the kind of sipper you might have in front of a fire.

Modelo is the top-selling beer in the U.S. The brand was born 100 years ago in Tacuba, Mexico. It’s stayed true to its hispanic roots and grown impressively, now responsible for not just a lineup of beers but cheladas and other beverages as well.
The latest beer is a limited-run affair, available in most retailers through the holiday season. We suggest having it with fish and chips or some pork tacos. Get into the festive spirit and gift a six-pack to your neighbors.
“The Modelo brand continues to innovate by staying true to its heritage and embracing the traditions that matter most to the community,” said Logan Jensen, vice president brand marketing at Modelo. “Modelo Noche Especial is more than a beer; it’s a flavorful way to celebrate the season authentically.”
