Happenstance isn’t your average whiskey brand. The Nashville, Tennessee-based whiskey company is 100% owned and led by women. Recently, the brand announced the release of its first portfolio expansion with the addition of Happenstance Single Barrel Bourbon.

This new expression joins the brand’s award-winning flagship expression Founder’s Edition Bourbon. This limited-release bourbon whiskey is a 110-proof expression that was matured for a minimum of nine years in charred American oak barrels. This release has already won a gold medalist with a 92-point rating from the Beverage Testing Institute and double gold distinction from the SIP Awards.

According to Happenstance, the result is a multilayered whiskey that features flavors like caramelized sugar, baking spices, maple candy, cinnamon, and oaky wood.

“I hand-picked these rare barrels to expand our premium whiskey selection. I’m really excited about this new release and think it complements our current portfolio perfectly,” founder and master blender Paige Parker says. “As an ode to Music City, our online barrels were curated and inspired by Nashville’s area codes.”

Where can I buy it?

If you want to get your hands on a bottle of this single-barrel bourbon,  you likely won’t be able to stroll into your local liquor or whiskey store to get one. This limited-edition release will be available for purchase at select whiskey retailers as well as bars and restaurants in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas for the suggested price of $89.99 for a 750ml bottle. Bottles of this special release will also be available to purchase online at https://happenstancewhiskey.com with shipping to more than forty U.S. states.

The best beers from California you can buy anywhere
California is more than just IPAs
Sierra Nevada

Currently, more than 9,000 breweries of all sizes operate in the US. That’s an awful lot of IPAs, stouts, and lagers to choose from. Some states are more saturated with breweries (per capita) than others. This includes places like Vermont, Colorado, Maine, Oregon, and, of course, California. While I could take a deep dive into all the biggest beer-producing states, today is all about The Golden State.

I have a special affinity for California beer, and it’s because of one style in particular. Sure, you can find a beer style to fit every palate in the state, but in California, the IPA reigns supreme. In fact, if you look at almost any list ranking the best beers in the state, it will be littered with IPA options. While I often imbibe pilsners and other lagers (as well as wheat beers and other lighter beers) in the summer as well as stouts and porters (and other dark beers) in the winter, I always go back to the classic West Coast IPA.
