First teased during the Fall/Winter ‘25 Fashion Week in January, Jacquemus’ iteration of Nike’s historic Moon shoe is finally coming. The Moon Shoe was first released in 1972, creating a major flurry due to the use of the waffle sole. Mimicking the steps left behind by astronauts on the moon, the Moon Shoe earned its name because of the innovative design that left a print on the footwear industry. For Nike, the Moon Shoe marked an essential moment in the brand’s history, giving it one of its first signature shoes. Now, the athletic brand has allowed the French-founded luxury brand Jacquemus to revitalize this iconic sneaker with the premium style it’s known for. With a mix of sophistication and retro sneakers, the newly revamped Moon Shoe brings back this timeless design for another stellar look.
Nike’s Moon Shoe returns with Jacquemus’ luxe style

For the first time since 2004, Nike is ready to rerelease the Moon Shoe, but with Jacquemus’ distinct minimalist style. Donning a nylon upper, the Nike x Jacquemus Moon Shoe will feature deconstructed details with retro-inspired swooshes on the lateral sides. Jacquemus’ branding takes its place on the shoe’s tongue, while co-branding appears on the design’s iconic waffle sole in gum brown. Although neither Jacquemus nor Nike has revealed an official date, the French brand has already teased product pages via its web store, alluding to a launch date in the next couple of weeks. The Moon Shoe will make its re-appearance in three colorways: Black, Pale Yellow 2, and Dark Red, each of which comes with contrasting details. Upon its arrival, the Moon Shoe will retail for $180 each. True to Jacquemus’ style, the Moon Shoe retains its retro style but upgrades with soft, minimalist details that undoubtedly elevate the design.
