Crew Team: A Guide to Classic Sweatshirts

“A plain coloured, beautifully made sweatshirt is exactly the type of clothing that would actually be useful to have throughout your lifetime,” British designer/entrepreneur Tom Cridland told The Huffington Post UK in August 2015 upon the launch of his “30 Year Sweatshirt,” his organic cotton take on the apparel staple that is so durable and fade-resistant that he guarantees that it will last three decades.

A longtime and staunch proponent of the classic cotton crew neck pullover sweatshirt (especially versus its younger brother the zip-up hoodie), I couldn’t agree with Mr. Cridland more. Although they were created as training gear for jocks in the 1920s, these now evergreen tops thankfully crossed over into mainstream life in later years. Worn solo or as a layering piece, they are timeless, comfortable, good-looking no-brainers of a guy’s wardrobe, a fact that was even supported by that genius Albert Einstein. Maurice Lacroix’s latest collab with street artist Wotto is breaking all the rules
Street artist Wotto brings his colorful chaos to Maurice Lacroix's new limited edition AIKON
Maurice Lacroix watch on yellow background

Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix, founded in 1975, is known for producing luxury timepieces at a fair price. They have now introduced the AIKON Automatic Wotto Limited Edition. This watch turns the well-known AIKON into a canvas for street art by British artist Wotto (Craig Watkins) in a unique partnership limited to 1,000 units.

This particular watch has an interesting past. In 2021, Hungarian artist @Timeengraver changed an AIKON watch on his own and posted it on Instagram. Maurice Lacroix noticed the work and began the Urban Tribe series. Two years later, @Timeengraver made another watch with Wotto’s drawings, which led to this official project, marking an exciting watch/artist collaboration.

Junghans Mega Futura reimagines the first radio-controlled watch with modern style
The future is here
Junghas Mega Futura

Everything old is new again. More than 30 years ago, Junghans released the Mega 1, the first-ever radio-controlled watch in the world. Now, the company has released the Junghans Mega Futura, a modern interpretation of an iconic watch featuring clean cuts and an asymmetrical shape.

The watch has a storied history. Released in the 1990s, the Mega 1 was rolled out with an antenna—advanced technology that improved the watch’s precision. Frequencies would be sent from atomic clocks located in different cities to help set the time. And just like the first-ever model, this limited-edition model is equipped with advanced transmission capabilities for enhanced precision and accuracy. The transmission range of the first model was limited to a smaller area, but the Mega Futura has a wide range and can receive transmissions from North America, Asia, and Europe.
