When men’s athletic wear brand Ten Thousand launched their signature Foundation Shorts last October, they did so with a simple, yet lofty, goal in mind: to create the best training shorts on the market. Within just three weeks, they’d completely sold through their stock and established a five month waiting list for their shorts.


Now, the wait is over, and Ten Thousand is set to launch both a restock of their athletic wear products and an exclusive partnership with fitness brand Equinox.

“It’s been amazing and humbling to see how our customers have responded to our product. Since the first launch, we’ve been working really hard and really quickly to ensure that everyone can get their hands on our Foundation Shorts,” starts Keith Nowak, co-founder and CEO of Ten Thousand.


Nowak credits the shorts’ versatility for their popularity. As opposed to other traditional athletic brands’ training shorts, Ten Thousand’s Foundation Shorts are completely customizable—customers can choose both the placement of the end-seam and whether or not to include a liner. This specificity, plus fabric that moves and breathes with the athlete, makes for a design that feels highly individualized.

It’s this personalization and innovative construction that first attracted Equinox to Ten Thousand.

“Equinox is determined to create the best overall fitness experience for their clients and so are we,” states Nowak.

The partnership, which will coincide with the May 31 launch of the brand’s restock, will see Equinox taking on the role as Ten Thousand’s exclusive offline retail partner. The brand’s Foundation Shorts will be available in 11 clubs across the United States in major urban areas such as LA, New York City, Chicago and Miami.
