Just in time for ski season there’s a new – albeit temporary – must-visit shop in New England.

Alpine sportswear brand Alp & Meters has launched a pop-up store at 1369 Boylston St. in Boston that will remain open until New Year’s Eve. Located in the Fenway neighborhood, the store stocks the technical-yet-stylish label’s entire fall/winter 2016 Forged Performance collection, which includes favorites such as the Shawl Collar Jacket, which combines traditional knit lambswool with leather ($1,095), the Alpine Guide Sweater, a lightweight layering piece in wool and waxed cotton ($325), and the Alpine Anorak, a smart-looking laced-front hooded pullover in British Millerain waxed canvas ($695). Also on hand are new styles such as the Classic Shell Jacket, a traditional waxed canvas coat ($695), the Alpine Hooded Vest, a sleeveless puffer piece ($525), and the Classic Waffle henley ($250).

In addition to the Alps & Meters merch, the store also sells eyewear by Northern Light Optics, socks by Darn Tough and leather care conditioners by Chamberlain’s Leather Milk, a Texas-based brand that produces American made leather-protection balms.

Although Alps & Meters is based in Boston founder Louis Joseph says that the city’s nearness to numerous ski resorts was the primary reason the location was chosen. “Boston commands a passionate ski community with individuals who travel to and are passionate about mountain life,” he says. “Its proximity to the trails of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine make it a fantastic staging point for winter adventure. When we’re not traveling to the mountains, we’re extremely eager to provide customers with a unique in-store experience for alpine enthusiasts to shop, learn more about the brand and its products, and interact with myself and the team in an intimate, one-on-one setting.”

“The latest collection is truly the most comprehensive head to toe collection for the Gentleman Skier,” he adds.

Well aware that he and his customers will prefer to spend their Saturdays and Sundays on the slopes instead of shopping, Joseph and his team have opted to keep the store closed on most weekends. Thus regular shop hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Can’t make it to Boston by December 31 to visit the store? Don’t sweat it. The new Alps & Meters collection is also available at the brand’s online shop with a guaranteed risk-free try-on.
