Adidas Originals seems to be jumping into every facet of the fashion game recently. Their latest creation? Timepieces. And yes, you read that right. The Adidas Originals watch collection aims to showcase the evolving relationship of sport and street culture, in a way that pays tribute to the Adidas heritage through simple yet stylish wristwear.

Founded in 2001, Adidas Originals is a lifestyle brand that’s dedicated to producing innovative products that mesh the creativity and courage found on the court or the field with the youthful eye on street culture. Marked by the iconic Trefoil logo that first appeared in 1972, the Adidas Originals brand has been using this logo to mark heritage-inspired clothing, shoes, and accessories to set itself apart.

We’ve covered the brand’s beer and vomit repelling shoes and their limited edition Henry Poole collaboration in the past, but we figured we would give you the rundown before diving into their first watch release.

So, now when you see the trefoil logo or the three stripes – you’ll know how to differentiate the two. But enough with the history lessons – it’s time for some stylish time telling.

The Adidas Originals watch collection features a range of diversely styled watches, with each offering its own respective tribute and flare to Adidas Originals’ first-ever timepiece collection: ARCHIVE, PROCESS, DISTRICT and CYPHER.

The ARCHIVE design does a great job of pulling inspiration from adidas’ rich street style and combing it with the aesthetic of simpler times at the dawn of the digital era to procure a timepiece that looks like it still belongs in this Century.

The unique blend of a squared profile, mixed with analog clock technology, gives the black and gold ARCHIVE_M1 a simplistic modern flare that feels right in any outfit. Other details of the design include footwear inspired sculpted buttons, a five-link stainless steel bracelet, as well as dual time zone and chronograph functionality.

The PROCESS might be the cheapest grab in the adidas Originals watch collection, but it surely doesn’t show it in appearance. With a clean and understated approach, the budget-friendly collection features five robust watch designs, each with a six-link stainless steel band that will rearrange your typical views on timepieces through the iconic adidas lens.

The gunmetal grey is truly the standout of the bunch, boasting a design that is simple and clean, yet elegant enough to be worn both at the office during the day followed by a night out on the town.

DISTRICT_M1 40 MM – $130

Taking a measured approach to telling time, the DISTRICT timepieces feature a classic, round silhouette and simple three-hand movement that results in a clean, yet uncomplicated, analog watch for daily wear. This rendition sports sleek black and rose gold accents, paired with a minimalist black leather band.

Now, the Bauhaus-inspired DISTRICT watches are infused with the three stripe DNA for a contemporary yet classic approach – something adidas likes to call “iconic simplicity.” With that being said, If you’re not into the flashiness of the rose gold, the adidas Originals watch collection has something for all personalities. The navy blue and silver timepiece with a dark brown, premium leather band will elevate your personal style with minimal effort.

Want something that really pops? Secure the all gold DISTRICT_L1 ($150).

This stouthearted time teller was crafted with the purpose of bringing the bold approach of street style to the wristwear world. The CYPHER design is available with a stainless steel bracelet or a premium Horween leather band, while also boasting its utility and structure with unidirectional and indexed bezel features.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of soft, handmade Horween leather slapped against the wrist. Our favorite style in the CYPHER collection is the CYPHER_LX1, which features a stunning black, silver, and subgreen silhouette.

Swatch goes punk with rebellious new watch collection
Swatch defies convention with punk-inspired 'No Rules' watch collection
'The No Rules' collection from Swatch boasts bold designs.

Swatch has long been considered a brand that goes against the grain and challenges boundaries in order to create singular watches and their recent release leans into their philosophy to wide acclaim. Once again Swatch has disrupted the industry with its ambitious new ‘No Rules’ collection — a bold tribute to punk’s anarchic spirit. Taking inspiration from the raw energy of the underground scene and anti-establishment aesthetics, this collection defies traditional norms with unapologetically dynamic colors, edgy textures, and unconventional materials. Each piece is a definitive statement, designed for those who live to challenge the status quo.
