Introducing a New Look for The Manual

We all need an update every once in a while. It’s why we renovate the living room, clean out the closet, rotate our shoe collection, or try a challenging recipe.

The same holds true for publications, which is why we’d like to introduce an evolution of The Manual. Our design and engineering teams have been working diligently on a new look for The Manual site over the past few months.

Why? It’s all for you, the reader.

Our coverage — and our mission to show men how to live a life that is more engaged — will stay the same. The differences you will notice are faster load times, exciting page layouts, a sleeker font, and a refreshing new look. The biggest change will be seen by those of you who read The Manual on their smartphones and other mobile devices, which includes over two-thirds of our total readership.

In the future, you can expect more educational guides, more of our favorite product suggestions, more noteworthy trends, more podcast episodes, and more must-read features, like the 2019 Spirit Awards, which are just around the corner.

Our coverage — and our mission to show men how to live a life that is more engaged — will stay the same.

But any big change in life demands maintenance. You can’t just splurge on your dream ride — you need to know how to care for it, too. We will still be tuning up the new site like a classic car in the months to come. Now that Godzilla and King Kong have teamed up, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire promises to continue building on Legendary's MonsterVerse. Now that we've gotten our first look at the film in a new trailer, interest in the sequel is growing. Although the trailer makes it clear that Godzilla and Kong are going to be fighting on the same side this time, and it suggests that Godzilla may unleash some new powers, there's still plenty about the new movie that we don't yet know. Will this be one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever? Only time will tell. In the meantime, here's everything we know about Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, including its trailers and who is in the cast.

What is Godzilla x Kong about?
Most people do not go to Godzilla movies for the plot, but Legendary has released its official description nonetheless:
The epic battle continues! Legendary Pictures’ cinematic Monsterverse follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
While it seems like Godzilla and Kong will team up in the new film, it also sounds like the film will be diving deeper into the lore of this universe. While most people are likely coming to these movies for sheer spectacle, there may be some who are into the notion of learning more about the origins of this particular version of the universe.

Following up on the masterful, Best Picture-nominated Dune, Dune: Part Two is set to pick up right where the first chapter of this saga left off. Director Denis Villeneuve chose to be very faithful to the original book in adapting this but used every ounce of his budget to build a world that felt entirely enveloping. Part Two maybe even more action-packed than the first installment, as Paul Atreides attempts to rally the Fremen to take back his home and take on the Harkonens.

While being able to jot down your thoughts on the go is convenient, limiting Journal to iPhones isn't merely an accessibility issue. For many, journaling is a way to escape the distractions of their devices and engage in reflective, mindful writing. With a phone in hand, notifications are hard to ignore, and tapping out entries on a tiny screen feels like a chore compared to the flow of pen on paper or the rhythm of keys.
