Lose Your Baggage

It’s that time of the year again when the pre-holiday, pre-vacation work starts to come back and bite us in the behind. Perhaps you partied a little too hard or didn’t get as much sleep as much as you would have hoped, but hey, who needs sleep when we have technologically advanced man-products? You may feel like a zombie, but you don’t have to look like one. Whether you suffer from puffiness or dark circles under your eyes, we compiled a list of some great products you may want to consider trying on your sad sacks.
Peter Thomas Roth’s Laser-Free Resurfacing Eye Serum is a reddish under eye serum that immediately combats puffiness, fine lines and dark circles. High-tech ingredients such as “Dragon’s Blood Eye Complex” (it doesn’t get more intense or high-tech than that) help regenerate and repair upon its first use. This stuff will wake your eyes up, even if you yourself are not. Dragon’s Blood extract, by the way is a dark red resin that comes from the Croton Lechleri Tree found in the Peruvian Amazon Rain Forest and has been used for centuries to accelerate the repair of severely damaged skin. If Charlie Sheen ever comes out with an under eye product, we’re sure it would contain Tiger’s blood.
Power K Eye Rescue is a powerful eye treatment that immediately helps brighten the under eye area and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Some of the ingredients used to make this powerful cream include vitamin K (the same anti-oxidant that makes kale so healthy), vitamin C and coenzyme q-10, which are encapsulated in tiny caviar-like beads. This product also helps minimize the appearance of irritation caused by rubbing your eyes. Both of these products are available at www.peterthomasroth.com

Anthony Logistics was started by Anthony Sosnick in 2000 and has remained a strong brand in the world of men’s grooming and skin care. Their Continuous Moisture Eye Cream uses Shea Butter and Squalane to provide deep skin hydration, and Vitamins A, C and E to help firm and diminish fine lines and dark circles. Cucumber Extract soothes the sensitive skin underneath your eyes and Carrot Root Extract aides in elasticity. It is noteworthy, that Anthony Logistics also contributes a portion of the proceeds from this product and donates it to prostate cancer research.

StriVectin-TL 360 Tightening Eye Serum means serious business. StriVectin has been famous for its products since 2002 and this eye serum focuses on tightening up. Reading the ingredients is basically like reading from an advanced-level science textbook when you’re more of an English or history student, but here are the basics: protein tighteners, botanical tensors and a multi-patented NIA-114 (niacin) molecule that tightens and firms skin. The metal tip helps with application while cooling and massaging your skin. If your problem is strictly dark circles, look out for StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector available this April.

Lab Series is a line of high performance skin care products specifically built for men. Their Age Rescue Eye Therapy is a lightweight gel cream that will refresh your tired eyes and reduce all the puffiness. Lab Series encourages men to tackle dark circles and puffy problems. After 12 weeks of use, 48 percent of users noticed dark circle reduction, while 34 percent recognized less puffiness around the eyes according to a study by the company. Smoothness, moisturization, and skin firmness were also improved after continued use thanks to whey protein and Pyrus Malus extract (which improves elasticity and smoothness).

Aveda’s men’s line has a solution for all the guys stressing out about our eco-system with their Green Science Firming Eye Cream. The “green” cream uses Lady’s thistle, cactus formula and organic Argan oil from Morocco to moisturize and smooth out those crows feet you say you don’t care about, but secretly, kind of do. Peptides and plant derived buckwheat wax also help fight the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes.
